Water Quality

Safe, reliable drinking water

Water is critical to the health and wellbeing of our community, to the operation of our daycare centers, schools, and hospitals, and to the success of the businesses that drive Oregon’s economy.

That’s why we’re constantly testing the water quality in our system and monitoring the performance of our pipes, pump stations, and reservoirs: to ensure that Tualatin Valley Water District customers enjoy the highest quality water.

Each year, our Water Quality Team conducts thousands of tests to ensure that the water we provide remains safe for you to drink.

Three hundred sixty-five days a year, our crews are analyzing and monitoring not only the water but the materials and systems that carry it from source to tap. Using our state-of-the-art telemetry system, TVWD's water system is monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We consistently deliver water that meets or is better than all federal and state drinking water standards.

Did you know that TVWD maintains 23 reservoirs and more than 750 miles of pipe?

If those pipes were lined up end to end, they would extend south from Portland past San Francisco, California.

We proudly drink the water that we serve.

This community is our home. We are the people of Tualatin Valley Water District, and we’re here to ensure that every day—today, tomorrow, and for years to come—our community enjoys safe, reliable drinking water.

“I love coming to work with all these people I know and I trust. Frankly, it's one of the things that keeps me around. I'm not just there to do a job. I feel like a part of the community.”

At TVWD, our customers come first—today, tomorrow, and every day. Need a human connection? Our team provides responsive, one-on-one service to more than 30,000 customer inquiries each year. We’re happy to help. TVWD personnel remain on call twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
